How To Make Things With Polymorph Low Melt Plastic

A lot of items we buy these days are made from really brittle plastic they snaps to bends under pressure or normal use.

However,  from the prosthetic and hand made robot field comes a really nice material that is:

Quick to prepare
Safe to use
Strong and flexible
Re-usuable when you get it wrong
Cheap to buy
Safe to keep
Bio degradable

What is the Super Material?  They call it Polymorph.

What is Polymorph?
Polymorph is a thermoplastic polymer that melts at around 62°C.  Its generally supplied as small off white plastic granules. Polymorph is non-toxic and completely biodegradable. Suppliers also tend to supply a range of  coloured powder additives if you want to colour it, or it can be painted.

How do I use Polymorph ?
  • Heat water to just over 65 degrees
  • Add the opaque white pellets to the water
  • Leave the pellets in the water till they turn transparent
  • Remove the pellets from the water and mould by hand
  • add colour if required)
  • Allow the Polymorph to cool , it will turn white and solid
  • Re-heat if further moulding is required

Dental Health Message Or Ironic Store Product Placement. You Choose?

Just spotted this. So, did they do this deliberately as part of their commitment to public dental health? or as a clever ruse to get people buy more toothpaste. All that was missing was a rack of Toothbrushes ;-)

This video is about Emergency Golf Bag Umbrella Holder Repair. I was told this evening, before tomorrows competition and following todays rain and hail storms that the Umbrella Holder was busted.  So before it got dark, outside I went with my 'Think Out Of The Box' head on and tools.  Ten minutes later a successful repair was done and video'ed ;-)

And I saved the cost of a new bag ;-)

Savings Money on new network cables by connecting shorter cables together

Routers or Broadband devices usually come with short Cat 5 cables, they are neat by practically too short to use. But don't throw them away, they can be easily joined together with a simple straight through connector.

I personally bought a bad full some years ago, which I'd buried, so I'm selling my surplus on my circus-frontman eBay site, here is the link.

Buy a pair of cheap RJ45 cables connectors

These are an extremely quick, straight forward and useful item to have in any tool box when your network starts playing up as can be seen from my short video.

Thanks for looking.
